Day 533:23rd Mar, 2011 - Endless Goodbyes...

When I came back after dropping my parents, I stayed awake since I had to see off Pachpan in an hour. When that moment actually happened, I myself was surprised by how hard it hit me. You are sometimes so used to just bang open the door of a friend, enter their room for anything - be it timepass, cribbing or advice. And suddenly you know, when you open the door the next time, nothing's going to be there... :-(

But anyways, the show must go on. Didn't feel sleepy after that. So I started off with this newly recommended series 'Death Note' - a Japanese manga. Seems pretty awesome! Went off for lunch to Aryans for one final awesome choley. Also the last time my Discover blazed the streets of Lucknow.

Had been trying all this while to get some cab person for our one-day trip, but unfortunately no one was available at that time. So it was time to indulge in all the usual activities of whiling time. Took the chance and went for one final swim in Umang. (The water is still so cold!) Finished all the latest episodes of HIMYM & TBBT. Got my bike packed and sent.

Point to be noted is I had had only around 6 hours of sleep in the past 60 hours :-p . I wish I had some mechanism to postpone all my sleep requirements over the next 2-3 days to later. But anyways, was feeling a little sleepy around midnight, but decided to have a movie session with Kisaan and Chatur. And once I had evaded that one phase of sleep, I went on to finish two movies Back to the Future and Ice Age 2. (Absolutely loved the latter one!). In between, bidding goodbye to Shomo and Bala as well...

And now finally, after sending my buddies to sleep, I think I shall pay heed to what my body is demanding and get some sleep. But for sure, am having multiple alarms to ensure I don't end up wasting my last few hours at helL .. sleeping!

Day 363: 15th Sep, 2010

Started reading this one book we got for our LTL class (in another lecture of course :-P). The book is 'Siddhartha' by Hermann Hesse (no, I didn't add any extra letters in the name). The book I thought would be on the early life of Gautam Buddha. I am through with 90% of the book and very much confused. And that is because Siddhartha and Gautam Buddha are two different characters in the book!! :-| . Hopefully the last 20 odd pages will have some CID types climax and put the jigsaw pieces together.

Also restarted my swimming session. The pool today was quite literally a sea of humanity, super crowded by people of all ages, origins, sexes and even race :D (now that we have STEX people :-P).

Just finished watching TROY. Heard great reviews about it, but I didn't find the movie mind-blowing. Definitely nice though. And boy, how nice would it be to be Achilles! :D

Day 332: 7th Aug, 2010

Swam 6 laps at a stretch today :) . Have now become successful in implementing my own simpler version of the backstroke :-p

The advantage of having attended multiple insti parties is that you start learning to enjoy yourself even in adverse conditions - this time defined by a hopeless DJ. But we just kept on going - we being Vats, Mandals, Vivek, RK, myself and a few others - right till the end! For me, it is as usual :) . The innovation this time around was the new act of forming a sitting circle on the dance floor and singing/shouting those old slow songs. We really wanted the DJ to take the hint :P, but also got a lot of audience attention ;-)

5am now. The sun rays aren't here yet. Will put myself to sleep now. Expecting a Volini week ahead :)

Day 329: 4th Aug, 2010

I was quite proud of myself and also a little surprised when I first managed to wake up at 6.something. Shamefully though, I just didn't manage to wake myself enough and ended up missing the 8.15 Int Fin class! Later on heard, the prof was really curious to see the new celebrity of the class - Pachpan! :D

Have had about 3-4 sessions of Bridge by now, but I haven't improved my awareness levels as much as I should have. Especially considering that's the essence of Bridge. Desperately need to internalize the bare minimum act of keeping count!

A slight improvement in my swimming record - did 4 laps continuously! But I think I must start setting higher targets. In fact I'll do it right now - 10 laps at a stretch, by mid September!

In the midst of this all, continuing the infinite coupling - reading Atlas Shrugged and watching LOTR. And btw, the latter seems to be a more painful indulgence!

Day 316: 22nd Jul, 2010

I have no clue how I missed this!! Played SQUASH yesterday at Umang. My first time in a squash court. I would love to say it was a great experience and blah blah. Except for the fact it wasn't - that it lasted for 4-5 min - in which Mr. Professional Vanki COMPREHENSIVELY beat me! :-( . Won't reveal scores to avoid public embarassment :P

The team building class was FUN! :D (They always are! - don't miss this elective!). We made greeting cards :D . Sketch pen marks on the palm and all at the end of it :D

Spent a good part of the evening taking the mid-term reviews of facchas. Decent work by some of them; and as expected, a few of them backed out. Sometimes, it is interesting to see how a system filters people out just by existing. In the sense, we hadn't even put much pressure. But somehow, there are always people who don't want to clear the smallest of hurdles. Why? - May be they can't see the finish, but then again, may be, they just are that way.

Day 283: 19th Jun, 2010

Gymmed for the second consecutive day. Not bad. It's surprising how quickly the body seems to adjust. For sure, I had put in more effort today, but still felt less tired.

Today however was yet another debut - swimming ! :D .. Was fun. Apparently less crowded today. Pravin has also come down to campus. Did some tp. Half of INDEX was in the pool :-p . Pravin, as usual, did some psycho stunts - weird somersault dives into the pool. Swam for almost 1.5 hrs. Dead tired !

Day 282: 18th Jun, 2010

Today is a red letter day. Finally, I make my debut at Umang. Eventually, as it turns out, all it takes to spur me is to make a bet :-p. Gymmed one complete hour in the morning :) Hope this lasts!

The prom strat class breezed away - was an ad watching session today :D

But a hectic day otherwise. Finally made a closure with my old room. None of my stuff is there now. Bloody but I did turn envious - those rooms have been given nice new beds and pillows! :-o

Arranged for some docs in the afternoon. Arranged for Praveen's visit. Was out in the city today all evening with INDEX work. The good thing was - almost everyone I met in the day was nice! Had an unexpectedly loooong-ish chat with our flex printing vendor. Pretty interesting conversation! Also got some cost savings :)

Went to watch Raavan with the INDEX gang. I joined them directly at Wave. (BTW, the mystery of the vanishing 100/- happened yet again! :-X .. need to be careful and alert the next time!). Missed the title song as we stayed in the food court for an extra 5 min..and I guess we kinda missed the best part. Movie is okay-ish, pretty scenic, random at times and very Southie!!

Day 254: 15th Mar, 2010

Got myself an extra long LAN cord  in the Maha Room-Clearance Mahotsav. Plus another mattress. Another couple of racks (which got claimed immediately!). Many many hangers and clips, surely more than the number of clothes I have! The INDEX room has once again transformed into a storage room, with each of us claiming a corner.

Our sports center - Umang - is finally active. Need to start using it soon!

I seem to be getting back to the days of late sleeping. Perhaps it has something to do with the weather. (It's no longer cold). Have just been trying to put some pages together for the INDEX brochure. Have got a start, will do the rest tomorrow(or should I say later today?). For now, my clock says it 5.35am. Let me try and beat the sunrise.
